User-Tailored Orthosis Design for 3D Printing with PLACTIVE: A Quick Methodology

This paper proposes a methodology for user-tailored orthosis design 3D printing that aims to give non-expert, user-oriented tool easily generates customized orthosis. Additionally, this work verify the biocompatibility of PLACTIVE™ (PLACTIVE AN1™, nano-additive concentration 1%, Copper 3D, Santiago, Chile) filament after extrusion check its feasibility printed orthoses. A forefinger and thumb were successfully designed applying proposed methodology. The results showed is able generate simple practical orthoses through fairly easy intuitive procedure. Furthermore, experimental tests not affected process, suggesting it feasible material 3D-printed
